These are all plates that I have prepped for etching. I think I've got this thing down :) It's all about getting the metal up to temp and burnishing until you can see the image come through. Smaller pieces are easier becasue they come up to temp faster. Larger pieces have to be worked...especially on a small craft iron.
Tomorrow I will etch...and etch...and etch.........

Gail, are you using a craft iron like the one we used in class or a clothes iron?
These are awesome!! I haven't had a chance to work on my etching yet but you are inspiring me!
Hi Barbara...I'm using a craft iron. I put it up at the highest temp. I did check the temp with an oven thermometer and it's measureing 275
I so want to do etching!! Can you point me to a place with directions. I'd love to draw freehand on copper and etch it!
