One week away from Bronze.....

Celie Fago's bracelet in bronze metal clay.

Next Monday I go to Perdue University for the PMC guild's meeting. Cris and I are going to take Celie's 2-day bronze class. There are a couple of other classes in bronze clay going on with Hadar Jacobson. We are going to be the first students to work with this new clay. Everybody is buzzing. Since silver has gotten so expensive this provides another medium to work in. It looks so amazing, warm and rich. I'm looking forward to this. Hopefully this week at work will fly by.

Have a lovely time, but I have to admit to a bit of jealousy here. I really wanted to go to Perdue, there are even bursaries (sp?) for artists in the PMC guild UK, but I just don't have the cash this year.
I spent quite a lot on completing my PMC diploma (MCSJ Lisa Cain, great teacher). So although I wouldn't change a thing, I really wish I was going.
If you bump into Lisa (she's a friend of Celie's and I think will be at the conference with her bf Robert Dancik) you'll see what I mean. She's English, has wild black hair, is great fun and a terrific teacher.
Have lots of fun with the bronze clay, and I hope you and your friend have time to photograph your work.

I like your work, Gail. I'm a sculptor interested in using bronze clay. Can you tell me where you get yours? Who makes it?

Hi Kay...I'll keep an eye out for Lisa. I checked out her school. I would love to come to the UK to take some classes there.

Hi Gary... Bill Struve is the inventor of bronze metal clay. It will be distributed by Rio Grande at www.riogrande.com It will sell in 100 and 200 gram packages. I'm not sure when they will start distribution.

We must make a real effort to behave ourselves in Celie's class! We wouldn't want people thinking we aren't serious artists! HA!

I.....Am.....So.....Jealous!!! You must tell us all about how awesome this new clay is...I swear, that snake bracelet was my all-time favorite thing I saw at B&B this year...I can't wait to get my hands o this stuff and make a mess with it...I'm curious how easy it will be to use, cause I am not PMC literate...so I'm hoping this is more forgiving...
