La Seine...

A final reminder. Whenever you are in Paris at twilight in the early summer, return to the Seine and watch the evening sky close slowly on a last strand of daylight fading quietly, like a sigh. –Kate Simon

There are 37 bridges over the Seine and that doesn't include the pedestrian bridges.  This one is my favorite...Pont des arts. 

Most of the major sights in Paris are just off the Seine...this is...you guessed it...The Louvre.

This trip was relaxed.  We spent a couple afternoons just sitting on the banks of the Seine.

Paris Windows

Beautiful stained glass.  I love how the light through the glass colors the side of the window well.

A side chapel in one of the cathedrals.  It's hard to convey how massive these cathedrals are if you haven't been in one.  They are humbling.

Repetto...THE ballet shoe store. Rose Repetto made a pair of red ballerina flats for Bridgette Bardot which she wore in the movie "And God Created Woman".  A year later Audrey Hepburn wore black ballerina flats in "Funny Face".  Who doesn't have a pair of ballerina flats in their closet?

Paris Streets

Sitting there, alone in a foreign country, far from my job and everyone I know, a feeling came over me. Some New Work...

I have an entire box of bronze pieces parts....and still I make more.  As I get into the studio more consistently, the ideas start to flow and I'm a little afraid to stop making pieces parts and start assembly because I will lose the flow.

I think I will split my time...a couple nights a week making parts and a couple nights a week doing assembly. I have some many cool beads I need to start using.  I can't just hoard them forever.....or can I??  Well...maybe I can hoard a few.

Cleveland Flea...

This weekend we finally got to The Cleveland Flea.  They have it once a month from April through October.  It's part flea market, part handmade market with lots of food and beer.  It's being held at Superior and East 36th street in the Asia Town Neighborhood.  It's a fun show in an industrial setting and extremely well attended.

Fun people.  I got some big nails from Black Kitten.  I wasn't going to get them then I noticed the heads were numbered. Really cool.  I'll post a pic later.
